Nico's bachelorette party fun

Our trip back to Iowa was filled with a lot of fun. There was never a dull moment and there was always something planned. Unfortunately those "somethings" always went until 3:30am:)
Tessa and the girls did a fabulous job setting things up for my bachelorette party. I received the royal treatment when Uncle Troy pulled up in the limo and drove us around town all night. I knew it was going to be a good night when deftones "passenger" was blasting on the radio and we were headed for Main St in Cedar Falls. We met at Bourbon Street at 6pm and filled the dinning area. We had about 30 giddy ladies enjoying drinks, dinner and some exotic gifts:) I have to say the cake pan was pretty interesting but the name tags were a big hit!
Thank you so much to everyone who was able to attend. It was great getting to catch up with everyone! And I truly appreciated everything!

Sunday Funday

We had to break out the pool toys:) We have been averaging around 100 degrees which is normal for this time of year. Abby is a little sun goddess, or like Greg says Bird dog. She loves to sit in the sun. She will sit in the little sliver of sun that comes in thru the shades in the morning. Of course the temperatures outside get to her sometimes so we felt she needed to cool off:)

The new pool

It is almost that time a year again~ Floating around in the pool all day long! Our pool needed a few repairs so we decided to go with a new color all together. I'm sure our neighbours did not enjoy the jack hammering that went on to lay the new plaster but it sure has a nice cool look to it now:) It was worth it.

Flowers are on steroids

It has been so much fun this spring watching our flowers bloom. We moved in the end of July so we had missed a lot of the action. This year we planted mums, an orange tree, Scarlet Bottlebrush Bush, and a rose bush. The rose bush has taken off! The bottlebrush will most likely bloom in another year. It adds a nice touch of color to the backyard instead of just green. But speaking of green the myoporum or ground coverage has little white blooms on it. Sometimes it reminds us of little snowflakes.

Last Weekends Big Party

Last Weekend Nico and I, had our Engagement Party. It was alot of fun and we had a great time with our friends here in Pheonix and were honored with a visit from our friend Syring who lives in Missouri. The weather was perfect for outside party. Night started out with a washers game and food. Everbody had a good time and great conversation. As the night went on we broken into the Tequila, which was awesome, and started us on the path to dancing and a killer hangover. The next day Syring and I had ourselves a washers tournment which he won 3-2. I am now practicing for the rematch. We have some pictures from the party below.

Washers Season Officially Started

This weekend we decided to kick off the 2009 Washer's season at our place. The competition was tough and the games fierce, we are happy to report; there were no knock down bloody fights. (We all have heard the horrors of the 1963, interstate state, women’s 37 and under washers championship. That came to be known as "The Game of Tears" do to the bloodshed that perused a referees decision to only award one point for a washer that landed and stuck to the rim of the bulls eye, costing Tulsa's YWCA team the title and simultaneously sparking a riot that witnesses can only describe as gruesomely horrific before breaking into tears) We had a lot of fun grilling out and putting back a couple of cold ones during the games. I would like to say congrats to Nico for the first bulls eye of the season. Check out the picks below for all the action.

Engagement Pictures

Nico and I had another great weekend in Sedona, the purpose of the trip was our engagment pictures. It was another beautiful Arizona February day. We headed out a bit early to Sedona and spent a little time on the balcony at Oaxaca. Then met Elaine our photographer for our photoshoot at Devils Bridge. Which was where I proposed to Nicole. The photo shoot was fun, we got a lot of great pictures and a couple of strange look from hikers who were not used to seeing a women in high heels climbing up a clif face. Here is a link to the photographers website if you would like to take a look.
