Monster Starfish eater

When my mom was visiting we were going thru all of the wedding supplies. Since its a beach themed wedding I had a HUGE starfish and some seashells for decoration. Well as we were going thru them I set them down on the floor. I made the mistake of not picking them back up and came home to a VERY full puppy and a destroyed starfish. Actually she pretty much ATE the whole thing. Needless to say for the next couple of days Abby smelled a little fishy and had a major upset tummy. I do have to say thanks to Calds for helping clean up after her a few times:)

Arizona Snow

I FINALLY made my first and probably only snowboard trip of the season this last weekend. After months of dreaming and wishing, I could have hardly had a better weekend to do it. The snow was great, a slight cover of powder on top of a nice layer of packed (not icy) snow. The temperature was just right at 30 degrees. I got some good runs in, even hiked up and made a run from the upper bowl. My only regret is that I probably wont get another trip in this year. Here is a 270 degree picture of the bowl

Mom's Visit

Time is flying by. January 3rd marked our one month engagement. Our Mexico wedding is fast approaching. The majority of wedding planning is finished. My mom was kind enough to take some time off of work and fly out here to put some finishing touches on wedding plans and go dress hunting with me:)

Wow dress hunting was fun and exhausting at the same time! Trying on those dresses was a major work out!! Of course the last shop we went to was wear I found the dress that felt perfect. We drove all over Phoenix and Tempe visiting bridal shops. David’s Bridal had the biggest selection, the special treatment and the accessories I loved. Everything just fell into place.

I’m sure Greg enjoyed having the house to himself while we were shopping:) He has his first big exam tonight (Tuesday) so he spent most of his Friday and Saturday just studying.

However all three of us did get to spend time together on Sunday. Some may say I’m a nerd, but I was excited to hear that Chihuly The nature of Glass was at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens and I reserved tickets for us on Sunday ASAP! Dale Chihuly is a very talented artist that is known for making really unique glass sculptures. It was a partially cloudy day with some rain sprinkles here and there but with the glass sculptures and their bright vibrant colors it felt like a warm sunny day.

Even though we had some rain this last weekend we were still able to enjoy a couple days of sunshine. We made homemade pizza and grilled steaks. I learned how expensive blockbuster has gotten. We rented three movies, Eagle Eye (it was good and suspenseful), Madagascar 2 (very cute and funny) and Hancock. Hancock wasn’t what I thought it was going to be but it was pretty decent. I would recommend them all:)
